Almost 75 percent of the world's population live in areas of the world with severe religious restrictions. OneBook projects operate within 2 Asian countries marked by opposition to Christianity. Persecution in these areas may take a variety of forms, from hostile attitudes to discrimination in jobs or education, to isolation, or even physical harm or death. Therefore, for the safety of our brothers and sisters serving in these areas and for the benefit of the growing communities of believers that they serve, we use pseudonyms in our writing, and we are unable to provide specific details about project locations.
Our Local Partner
OneBook partners with 3 local organizations in 2 countries in Asia. Nationals are leading a growing movement, meeting this need through their own Bible translation and literacy organizations. Well-trained local teams develop alphabets along with basic literacy programs in local language projects. Learning to read and write empowers people to access education and opportunities for positive change, gaining confidence and a say in their own future. Teams also begin to translate Scripture into the mother tongue and teach people to use it.
