OneBook is a Wycliffe Global Alliance partner organization that facilitates nationally-led and staffed Bible translation and literacy programs serving minority language communities across Africa and Asia. Working in partnership with local organizations, OneBook is transforming communities through language development, Bible translation, mother-tongue literacy initiatives, and life-changing community development programs.

 

Currently, OneBook is engaged in ongoing projects serving 40 language communities in seven countries across Africa and Asia. Since inception in 2009, our project teams have dedicated the New Testament (and one full Bible) in 50 minority languages. Our work is impacting more than 150 language communities and counting.

Position Summary:

A OneBook Partner Liaison will be the key contact between the organization and our operating partners throughout the world. The Partner Liaison normally manages the relationships with two to three partners, involving up to 25 language groups in one or more countries of the Global South.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as main representative, or ambassador of, OneBook with operating partners, clearly communicating our vision, strategy, priorities, and ethos.

  • Serve in a consultative role in relationship with our partner CEOs and the operating partner’s management teams. This includes:

  • Act as OneBook’s expert on partner programs and projects, responsible for the ongoing management of all reporting, changes and relationship management with the partner and their approved projects in which OneBook has a funding relationship. 

  • Responsible for the collection and safeguarding (on OneBook’s server) of project information, data and media so that they can develop semi-annual program reports in both narrative, fiscal and visual formats for management. This information will be formatted by others for donor presentation.

  • OneBook’s ultimate responsibility is to raise the funds necessary to achieve our mission, while providing necessary literacy, engagement with Scriptures to facilitate flourishing communities. This requires that the Partner Liaison invests a portion of their time to support fundraising efforts through report writing, providing information and, while visiting projects, taking pictures, videos and interviewing personnel.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Highly relational and supportive individual, with strong communication and cross-cultural skills and abilities (cross cultural intelligence)

  • Previous international development experience and/or training

  • Understanding the issues of literacy, Bible translation, community development, non-profit management, impact assessment, and Scripture engagement

  • An understanding of donor needs

  • Ability to deal with complex issues and a wide variety of work objectives.

  • Ability to organize information well from multiple sources into summary reports.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills

  • Highly motivated, efficient and flexible individual; positive attitude, initiative, good judgment, ability to work independently with little supervision

  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously

  • Must be able to sign OneBook’s statement of faith

  • A heart for the ministry of Bible translation, literacy, and community development - you want to be a part of bringing God’s Word to the people of the world in their own language.


 

Nice-to-have skills and abilities:

  • Able to speak and write in French

  • Experience working with Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Drive, Zoom, etc

  • Experience working with Marketing/Communications teams

  • Writing experience

  • Photography experience
