Four friendly WEC missionaries just welcomed me this morning at the guesthouse of the evangelical Church in Guinea-Bissau. No, they were not from England, nor Canada. They had just recently arrived from Indonesia. They are part of the new reality, manifesting that the church in the South is maturing and is now sending missionaries out overseas, like far-away West Africa. One team plans to work among the predominantly Muslim Fula, while the other two will work among an animistic people group in the south of Guinea-Bissau. Check out their webpage here which lists their goals and strategies.
Though the sending countries might have changed, the ministry rests the same: to bring the Good News in word and deed to the people still living in ignorance of God’s plan of salvation and liberation.
