The whole point of Bible translation is to transform lives and communities for His glory. One tool of transformation is The Kande Story, a scripture based booklet on HIV. A community workshop was held to develop this resource in the Sabaot language. Many HIV orphans among the Sabaot community needed protection from sexual harassment, early marriages, being denied inheritance of their parents’ property, or being denied education and made child laborers. Using the teachings of Christ, this story exemplified how to show compassionate love in an understandable cultural context. This resource drastically altered the lives of these orphans and the community for the better.
