Music To Their Ears

An ethnomiscology workshop was recently held among the Fodigwa community. Community members joined the translation team to write songs for Easter, Christmas, marriage, child dedication, house dedication, worship, devotion and the list goes on! They checked the songs again and again, polishing them until, on the last day, 19 songs were selected by the consultant and recorded by the group. The recordings were put into an MP3 and Wave format. Then community members transferred them to their mobiles and returned to their home villages.
The following Sunday in a village church, believers had the opportunity to sing and worship in their heart language using these new songs. The singing lasted an hour and a half.  What a wonderful scene it was!
