A Lively Afternoon In Yumbe

Sept 10It was a lively afternoon in the Yumbe town centre in north-western Uganda where the 250,000 Aringa people live. The Aringa Bible translation and literacy team was holding a literacy promotion event. These events are used to make people aware that their language is now written and to encourage people of all ages to learn to read and write their own language. There was much enthusiasm and people could hardly wait to reach for a book to see their language in written form, and have a try at reading it themselves.
