Programs & Projects

Our national partner organizations work primarily with individual language groups in specific language projects.  Beginning in Fiscal Year 2012, OneBook is establishing a Program-based funding model.  This will allow our national partners to develop comprehensive three-year program plans which include both current and future language projects.

The core of OneBook’s partnership with national organizations focuses on literacy and translation of scriptures.  A minimum of 80 per cent of our funding in any project is concentrated on these areas. Yet project success also requires two additional components – organizational capacity building and community development.  To build long term organization sustainability we invest in their staff and infrastructure. As opportunities arise, various small community development projects (such as water wells and agricultural training) will be a component of our projects.

We are committed to helping our partners increase the impacts of these carefully selected projects. This model enables our partner organizations to create a holistic package with a long term view. It also assures funding for the three years of the program, with the possibility of renewal when the time is completed.
